Engineered for precision and built to endure, these manual-feed surface grinders are ideal for toolrooms, maintenance shops, and production environments requiring high repeatability and precision surface finishes. Their robust design and straightforward manual control makes them well-suited for grinding flat workpieces, precision tooling components, and mold or die surfaces.

Rigid Meehanite® Cast-Iron Frame. The machine base, saddle, and column are cast from high-grade Meehanite® iron to ensure maximum stiffness, vibration damping, and dimensional stability under load.

Table Assembly. The table is precision-ground and supported on hardened and ground guideways for accurate linear movement. A belt-driven mechanism provides smooth reciprocating motion with minimal vibration, ensuring uniform surface finish across the entire work area.

Cross Feed and Vertical Feed. Both feeds are manually operated through precision-ground lead screws. Handwheels are ergonomically positioned for precise, responsive adjustment and minimal operator fatigue during extended use. Graduated dials allow for accurate feed measurement and repeatable positioning.

Spindle Construction. The grinding spindle is dynamically balanced and supported by preloaded, high-precision angular-contact bearings to ensure rigidity, smooth rotation, and long bearing life. Power is transmitted through a high-efficiency belt system designed to minimize vibration and deliver consistent torque to the spindle. The drive design also isolates vibration from the motor, contributing to superior surface finish quality.

Gravity-Fed Lubrication System. A reliable, maintenance-free lubrication method ensures continuous oil distribution to critical slideways and bearing surfaces for long service life.

Control and Ergonomics. Operator controls are clearly arranged and positioned to facilitate precise manual operation. Large, balanced handwheels provide excellent tactile feedback and fine control of both cross and vertical feeds. Graduations are easy to read, allowing for accurate feed increments during high-precision grinding.
